Where is Niagara Falls located in Canada?

Niagara Falls refers to the world famous falls on the Niagara River between the lakes Erie and Ontario. It is 17 miles from north-northwest of Buffalo in New York and 75 miles from south-southeast of Toronto in Ontario. The Falls were formed at the time when the glaciers receded, towards the close of the Wisconsin glaciations and water from the Great Lakes took a turn around the Niagara escarpment and into the Atlantic Ocean.

Niagara Falls comprises two sections that are separated by Goat Island. One of them is the Horseshoe Falls, the major part of which lies on the Canadian side. The American Falls lie on the American side of the river. There is also the smaller fall called the Bridal Veil Falls. It is also situated on the American side and Luna Island separates it from the main fall.

The Niagara Falls is well known for its spectacular beauty. It is also an important source of hydroelectric power. In the US side the tourists can view the American Falls from walkways that are situated along the prospect point park. Goat Island also offers excellent views of the fall. On the Canadian side, there is the Queen Victoria Park that has platforms from where both the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls can be seen.
